Looking for some wedding alter inspiration? Over the past few years I have shot wedding around Hawaii, California, and Mainland Mexico, and I have seen some amazing and creative wedding alters. The most important thing when designing your own is make sure it speaks to who you are. Below are some of my favorite alters so far, hope you can find some things here that might spark an idea for your big day.
Jess + Jared, San Diego, California
This 7-piece alter is a beautiful example of an alter that reflects a couple. Natural, simple, organic, unique, beautiful. The little additions of rope and macrame give it that “imperfect perfection” feel, and the three floral arrangements frame the couple stunningly.

Joe + Elan, Tracones, Mexico
When you have a beautiful backdrop like the Pacific Ocean, sometimes simple is best. Driftwood and two floral arrangements are all it takes to make this Mexican wedding look spectacular
Greg + Emily, Santa Barbara, California
Greg and his groomsmen built these amazing barn doors with distressed white paint for an elegant and bold look. The aesthetic matched perfectly with their “Los Olivos fields” theme. Well done!

Evan + Clai, Sayulita, Mexico
Local wheat and greens arched towards these two create this subtle focal line that directs the eye straight to the couple.

Rich + Maile, Haena, Kauai
When you have mount Makana as a natural alter, why would you want to have anything obstruct that? A simple yet stylish flower circle is all you need to create a magestic scene.
